The Large Group

This section addresses reducing the suffering of large groups – groups of so many people that we can't directly interact with each member. Large companies, political parties, cities, states, countries and so on are all examples of large groups. By the very nature of large groups, the influence of one individual is generally minimal at any given time. However, if the influence of an individual within a large group were negligible all the time, there wouldn't be much point in talking about it, would there?

One thing to remember: While this section is written from the point of view of trying to reduce the suffering of the members of the group, ultimately your own suffering will be reduced, too. If nothing else, you're a member of the larger group. Reducing the suffering of the group is good for everyone, including you.
